Larissa is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng, NER) and RPEQ with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney. She has over six years’ experience across water treatment, manufacturing and the food industry, and works as a Senior Process Engineer leading process design on water treatment plant upgrades. 

Since joining City Water Technology, Larissa has led process design on water treatment plant projects from options development and concept design through to detailed design and issue for construction, coordinating process deliverables with mechanical, electrical, civil and structural teams. Her work includes preparing business cases, undertaking process assessments, designing and drafting P&IDs in AutoCAD and PFDs in Visio, developing equipment lists, undertaking hydraulic calculations, updating DWQMPs and DWMSs, developing operation and maintenance manuals, and completing vulnerability and condition assessments for water treatment plants. 

Larissa facilitates and contributes to design, HAZOP and risk assessment workshops, and carries the resulting actions through to closeout in the design. Her hands-on site experience in jar testing, pilot plant operation, troubleshooting, plant optimisation, process commissioning and proof-of-performance testing informs designs that are practical to construct and operate. She coordinates process deliverables and stakeholder communication across multidisciplinary design teams to keep projects on programme. 

Larissa’s background in Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001 and auditing, underpins the attention to detail she brings to design reviews and technical documentation. She actively looks for process improvements and design optimisations that reduce power consumption, chemical use and whole-of-life cost for clients, and is motivated by the sustainable management of one of the community’s most essential resources.
